I was never a skin care person. In fact, I haven’t use any face creams until recently. I started paying more attention to my skin care routine when I turned 22. I’ve read some article saying that once you turn 20 you should invest in your skin so that you don’t wrinkle way too soon. I’m not gonna lie, it kind of freaked me out. I started noticing little lines under my eyes and decided that it’s time to buy some skin care products!
I found it a little tricky to pick the perfect products for my skin though. I didn’t know where to start. What skin type do I have? What creams would be good for my age and my needs? I had to do a lot of research!
Eventually, I noticed that my skin is definitely dry and dehydrated. I had dry patches on my nose, dry under eyes and my skin was lacking elasticity.

I can’t stress enough how much I love this range. After first use, I noticed that my skin improved. Dry patches disappeared over the night and my face felt plumped and moisturised in the morning. The consistency of both is rich and creamy; a little goes a long way. One little pot lasts me for about 6 months. I have probably used 3 or 4 pots already, so I can honestly recommend you this range from the bottom of my heart. I think it’s perfect if you are struggling with dry skin. If you have oily skin, I would first check the ingredients as I’ve heard mixed reviews from people with this type of skin.
Another face cream that I’ve been loving recently is this huge tube of Rich Bitch by Freck. It has some amazing, dry skin friendly ingredients like prickly pear seed oil (cactus), jojoba seed oil, kelp extract and rosemary leaf extract.
The moisturiser is very lightweight. It leaves my skin feeling radiant and fresh. It feels very natural on the skin so you can easily wear it underneath your makeup. If you have sensitive skin then happy days, because Rich Bitch scent is very neutral so it should irritate you at all!
When it comes to eye care, I think I made it pretty clear on my Instagram that Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is my favourite. I have very sensitive eyes and very often skin care products irritate them and make my vision blurry for another 10 years (or so). With this eye cream, I don’t have to worry about it.
Like I mentioned before on my Instagram, this is not a cream for you if you want to reduce your dark circles or puffiness. This product is perfect if you’re struggling with dry, dehydrated under eyes. It’s going to give you all to moisture you need. It blends perfectly into your skin, leaving it slightly brighter. I also love to use it underneath my concealer, especially a dry one like Tarte Shape Tape.
The consistency of Kiehls’s eye cream is very rich and creamy. A little goes a long way, and trust me when I say that this little pot lasts forever. It’s 28g which is more than usual eye care products.
I am familiar with hyaluronic acid since childhood because my mom would buy literally everything that contains it. Obviously as a kid, I didn’t know what are the benefits of this dangerously sounding acid. If you can relate, then let me tell you why you should incorporate hyaluronic acid into your skin care routine.
- it increases your skin moisture
- it reduces skin dryness
- it helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and redness.
Usually skin care products containing hyaluronic acid are quite pricey from my experience. Luckily, The Ordinary offers good quality products in affordable price range. This 30ml dropper bottle cost me £5.90.
The consistency of the product is almost like a gel. It leaves my skin feeling tacky which would be perfect for applying makeup. However, I wouldn’t recommend using it before foundation as I noticed it can start peeling off.
When it comes to their Peeling Solution, I’m still testing it so if you’d interested in more in depth review – let me know.
So far, I really like it. They recommend to leave it on your skin for no more than 10 minutes but if you have dry skin like me, I would go for 5 minutes. This product is perfect if you’re struggling with blemishes and pore congestion. I bought it mostly to reduce my fine lines but I can definitely see it working on my pores. I’ve used it 3 times so far, but thought it’s worth mentioning it in here, as I use it weekly to help clear my complexion.
The only thing is, I wouldn’t advice you to get it if you have a sensitive skin. It can be a little stingy and it can tickle quite a bit.
So that’s most of the products that I’m using in my skin care routine. There are few others that I love but haven’t mentioned because I need to repurchase them and remind myself why I love them.
Let me know what are your favourite products because recently I’m obsessed with testing new skin care goodies!
