It’s no secret that blogging has been my passion for years. I started my first blog back in 2007 to share my daily outfits, school adventures and teenage struggles. After taking a break from it for a year, I decided to come back. Here’s why.
Ever since I started blogging, I knew that I want to do it my entire life. I always imagined myself working as a beauty editor for Vogue (funny), so I decided to study multimedia journalism at London South Bank University to pursue my career.
Unfortunately, that didn’t work out, and I currently work as a social media manager at a tech startup here in London. Nonetheless, I’ve tried to come back to writing a blog for many years now.
Why do I keep trying?
Blogging gives me freedom. You don’t have to pretend to be someone else. You create your own virtual space, where you can be yourself and share everything you find fascinating. People who share the same passion will eventually find you and connect with you. Interestingly, all of my best friends I met online.
That’s what I miss about blogging the most – having my own community. But I also love being creative, and blogging allows me to do it in so many different ways. Brainstorming new projects and creating content is genuinely something I enjoy. And while my regular job requires me to be creative, it doesn’t allow me to express myself in a fun way.
I’m happy to give blogging another chance and see how it goes. My life might not be the most exciting at the moment, but maybe this gives me the motivation to try more new things.
If you’re a fellow blogger, what do you love about blogging the most?
