I don’t know about you, but as I am struggling with dehydrated skin – I adore face oils and serums. I’ve tried a lot of them; from drugstore to high end, looking for “the one” that would soak into my skin quickly, without irritating my sensitive eyes. After searching for my Prince Charming for years, I can finally share with you the one & only serum that I’ll be repurchasing for the rest of my life.

Friends, please let me introduce you Lil Prick by Freck. He is not a prick at all, though. Instead, he is a life saver (or should I say skin saver?).

Lil Prick is a dry, lightweight serum; a potion of cactus seed, apricot seed, marula seed & red raspberry seed oils. You may not believe me when I say I noticed results after first use, but it’s true. It quickly absorbed into my face and neck, leaving me feeling super radiant and plumped.

Let’s have a look at its key ingredients.

1.

PRICKLY PEAR SEED OIL

A non-comedogenic oil rich in linoleic acid that absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy coat. It contains the highest amount of vitamin E (more than argan oil). It’s also extremely rich in essential fatty acids (including omega 6 and 9), antioxidants, polyphenols, amino acids and vitamin K. It helps to calm down inflammation and redness.

2.

SWEET ALMOND OIL

Contains Vitamin E, Vitamin A, monounsaturated fatty acids, protein, potassium, and zinc. It’s worth to mention that the fatty acids help your skin retain moisture and can heal chapped and irritated skin. If you’re suffering from acne, Vitamin A can help you reduce it. It’s great to clean the dirt and oil accumulated in your pores and prevent you from getting blackheads.

3.

APRICOT KERNEL OIL

Contains gamma linoleic acid that is useful to firm and tone your skin. It’s perfect for dry and sensitive skin. It smooths out blemishes, wrinkles, fine lines, and other symptoms of maturing skin. Applied to itchy, chapped, wounded, or sore skin, Apricot Kernel Oil facilitates faster healing without leaving a greasy residue.

4.

MARULA SEED OIL

A highly anti-inflammatory plant oil, known for its high antioxidant count and light texture that quickly absorbs into the skin. It’s rich in amino acids, which are hydrating and anti-aging. It’s a good moisturiser for oily skin and treating acne as it is non greasy. It also has antimicrobial properties and may be effective against the bacteria that contribute to the formation of pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads. Can also be used on hair and nails.

5.

RASPBERRY SEED OIL

Known to boost elastin & collagen regeneration. It provides some UV protection (I would still recommend using typical SPF cream with it!). Similarly to other oils in Lil Prick, this one is also rich in antioxidants, Vitamins A and E, fatty acids etc.

You honestly don’t need much of the product. I would recommend only couple of drops as it spreads nicely on your face. I like to press it into my skin or massage it with small, circular motions using my fingertips.

It absorbs into your face almost immediately leaving it feeling moisturised and looking radiant. You can also use it before makeup as it has a “dry” finish. It doesn’t leave any oily layer so foundations will blend perfectly fine on top of it.

Have you used this serum? If so, what are your thoughts? What other serums/Face Oils would you recommend?
